Copy ANYthing With TextSniper

A consistent part of any video call is for people to go to a certain link, so the person sharing usually then copies their URL to the chat for everyone to go there. But sometimes they don't. They forget, or they are fully focused on their presentation. If only there was a way to copy that pesky 100 character URL by yourself.

TextSniper lives in the top bar of your Mac just waiting to be called into action.

Quick and easy capture of text

Using TextSniper is as easy as taking a screenshot. As somebody who takes screenshots all the time - either to remember things or for using it in presentations or designs - muscle memory will dictate that shift + cmd + 2 will trigger my beloved capture tool. After that, it's simply taking a screenshot of the area containing the text.

You can imagine how impressed your colleagues will be when they don't need to post the URL of what they're sharing on their screen anymore and you are right with them with lightning speed.

Reliable interpretation

As long as your internet connection doesn't distort the image too much, TextSniper has hardly let me down when it comes to capturing texts from screencasts. Here's a rather difficult text to interpret:

See how you can grab a URL or texts right from the screen

Keeping or forgetting about line breaks

I hate it when copying from PDFs and the line breaks are kept. You can choose to keep or ignore them and TextSniper will even capture all the texts from the images within the document as well.

The possibility of keeping or getting rid of line breaks comes in handy every time

Although it isn't free, it is a very good investment and very affordable. I use TextSniper at least 5 times a day. On a productive day even more than 50 times.

Alternatives: If you don't mind the extra step, you can also take a screenshot with Apple's regular screenshot shortcut shift + cmd + 4, open it preview and then copy text from there. However, this adds friction.

TextSniper is the best investment I have made in any app and saves me a lot of time and effort every day. You can get it on their official website or included with a SetApp subscription.
